ADHD Therapy in Grand Blanc, Michigan
Practical, strengths-based support for focus, organization, and follow-through — for teens and adults, in person in Grand Blanc or by secure video across Michigan.
Your brain isn't broken — it just works differently
ADHD isn't about not trying hard enough. It's a difference in how the brain manages attention, motivation, and follow-through — which can make everyday tasks feel like swimming upstream. Years of "you have so much potential, if only you'd focus" can leave people frustrated and hard on themselves. The good news: with the right strategies and support, ADHD becomes far more manageable, and your strengths get room to shine.
I'm Kevin B. Stachowiak, MSW, LMSW, and I've spent more than 30 years helping teens and adults work with their brains instead of against them. Together we'll build systems that fit how you actually think — and ease the self-criticism that so often tags along.

- Emotional ups and downs, overwhelm, and shame about it all
How therapy helps
Skills that fit how you think
ADHD therapy is practical and strengths-based. Using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) adapted for ADHD, we build real-world executive-function skills — breaking tasks down, planning, prioritizing, and setting up routines and environments that reduce friction. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness help with focus, impulse control, and emotional regulation, and we'll work on the anxiety, low self-esteem, or depression that often come along for the ride. If medication is part of your plan, I'm happy to coordinate with your prescriber.
My style is warm, encouraging, and collaborative — no shame, no lectures. See all therapy services →
Getting started
What to expect
We start with a free 15-minute consultation — a no-pressure way to ask questions and see if we're a good fit. Your first full session is a relaxed conversation about where ADHD trips you up and what you want to feel different. From there we build skills and systems at a realistic pace, in person in Grand Blanc or by secure telehealth, with daytime, evening, and weekend options. Most major insurance is accepted. Good to know
ADHD therapy: common questions
Can you diagnose ADHD?
My focus is therapy and skills, not formal ADHD testing. A diagnosis and any medication come from a physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist — and I'm glad to coordinate with your provider. You don't need a formal diagnosis to start building strategies that help.
Do I need medication for ADHD?
Not necessarily. Many people benefit from therapy and skills alone, and for others a combination of therapy and medication works best. As a licensed therapist I don't prescribe, but I can coordinate with your prescriber if medication is part of your plan.
Do you work with teens and adults with ADHD?
Yes — I work with clients age 12 and up. ADHD looks different at different ages, and support is tailored to whether you're navigating school, work, parenting, or daily life.
Do you take insurance for ADHD therapy?
Yes — most major plans, including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, and Medicaid. Self-pay and superbills for out-of-network reimbursement are also available. See fees & insurance →
