Private Pay Rates
Initial intake session
Your first session — getting to know you and what you're hoping for. Usually 45–60 minutes.
Individual therapy session
Ongoing sessions, 45–60 minutes. Sliding-scale options available in some cases — just ask.
Couples session
45–60 minutes. Most plans cover couples work; I’ll help you verify before we start.
Family session
45–60 minutes. Most plans cover family work; I’ll help you verify before we start.
Group session
Adults 18+. Groups run in four-week blocks and are typically a covered benefit.
Wellness workshop
Per workshop, Saturdays 9:00–10:30 AM. Private pay only — not billed to insurance.
Individual, couples and family sessions run 45–60 minutes; the exact length depends on the service billed, and I’ll confirm it when you schedule. Couples, family and group sessions are billed through insurance in the same way individual therapy is. Workshops are private pay only. See workshops →
Cancellations: I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. With less than 24 hours' notice, or for a missed appointment, the full session fee may be charged.
Payment is due at time of service. Accepted: HSA/FSA, all major cards, cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle. Superbills provided for out-of-network reimbursement.

How can I check my therapy benefits?
Contact your insurance plan or ask Kevin for help verifying benefits. Ask whether Kevin B. Stachowiak is in-network for your specific plan, whether outpatient psychotherapy is covered, and whether a referral or prior authorization is required. A plan appearing on the accepted-insurance list does not tell you the cost of your particular visit.
What should I ask about deductibles and copays?
A deductible is the amount you pay for covered care before your plan starts paying for many services. Ask how much of your deductible remains, whether it applies to psychotherapy, and what copay or coinsurance you may owe. Your insurance plan can explain the benefits that apply to you. Does insurance cover couples or family counseling?
Coverage depends on the plan and the service being provided. Ask your insurer specifically about couples or family sessions; coverage for individual psychotherapy does not by itself establish coverage for relationship counseling. Discuss coverage and self-pay options with Kevin before scheduling.
Does my plan cover telehealth therapy?
Ask your insurer whether your plan covers video psychotherapy with this provider, and whether your deductible, copay, coinsurance, referral requirements, or location restrictions differ from in-person care. Read about online therapy and the states served, and let Kevin know where you will be physically located for sessions.
